How it gets described on the phone
- Empty bin for days on end with the arm down and the rest of the cabinet fine
- Cubes that come out hollow, small or cloudy and slump into each other in the bin
- A trickle running down the back wall of the compartment and freezing into a ridge
- A grinding half-turn every couple of hours as the harvest stalls partway
What actually gets measured
- Static pressure and flow at your inlet valve, before the module is suspected of anything
- Filter age and condition, and the saddle tap or shutoff feeding the run
- Fill volume timed across a complete harvest, with the fill tube alignment checked cold
- Harvest cycle watched end to end — a stall halfway through is a different fault to no fill at all
- Drain line, pump and trap on clear-ice modules, including scale in the trap
- Cube size and clarity, and the temperature of the bin the cubes then sit in
A module being starved of water behaves exactly like a module that has failed, and in a tower kitchen the supply run reaches the valve after a long trip inside the building. So the first two readings on an ice call here are pressure at your valve and fill volume over a full cycle. Hollow or cloudy cubes point at a cycle being cut short. An empty bin with the arm down points at fill. Neither answer needs the module out of the cabinet.
